Discovery of 13lbs of high grade marijuana leads to arrest

- The Lancaster Sheriff's Office arrested a local man on numerous charges following a drug investigation. 

Jonathan Ryan Hardin, 25, of Lancaster, was taken into custody Friday, April 29 and charged with Trafficking Marijuana More than 10 but less than 100 Pounds. 

In a joint operation between the United States Postal Service and drug agents and investigators of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, a search warrant was obtained for Hardin’s home and was served on Friday. 

Hardin was home, and a package was recovered containing approximately 10 lbs of suspected marijuana.  

Agents also found another package on the property which contained approximately 3 lbs of what is believed to be marijuana.  Agents also seized prescription medication for which Hardin had no prescription and three shotguns. 

Hardin is also charged with Possession of a Prescription Medication without a Prescription and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime. 

Police said trafficking marijuana is a violent crime.  

“Based upon information shared between the postal inspector and the sheriff’s office, we were able to get a search warrant for the home, take 13 pounds of high grade marijuana off the market, and put Hardin in jail,” said Sheriff Barry Faile in a written statement, released on Friday.
