CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - North Carolina enforcement embarked on the Bike to D.C. Memorial Ride Monday morning.
The event honors fallen officers who lost their lives in the line of duty in the previous year.
More than 100 officers lost their lives in 2015. CMPD isn't the only agency taking part in the ride.
The Davidson and Mooresville Police Departments are also riding.
The 500 mile trek from Charlotte to D.C. will take four days.
