CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - A worship leader at Forest Hill Church was stabbed inside his own home after discovering a burglar inside.
It happened Wednesday afternoon, May 11 at a residence at the 2500 block of Barringer Drive.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested the suspect, Corey Edgerton, on Stegall Drive a short time after the incident.
CMPD told FOX 46 Charlotte Matt Bentley had returned home to find Edgerton inside his house. Edgerton stabbed Bentley, and then stole his car parked in the driveway and took off.
Officers found Bentley's stolen 2013 Nissan Altima Thursday.

Bentley was transported to the hospital for treatment.
