Officers said at 7:12 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, they responded to the 1100 block of Polk Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived on scene they spoke with a child who told officers that his mother was inside the residence being assaulted.
Officers entered the home and located the victim being held down by the suspect, later identified as Harris.
Officers pulled Harris off of the victim and placed him in handcuffs. Sexual Assault Detectives were notified and responded to the scene to begin their investigation.
During the investigation, detectives determined that the victim and suspect knew each other for two months and the victim asked Harris to take her and her son to the airport. On the ride to the airport Wednesday morning, Harris pulled over and sexually assaulted the victim at knife-point.
Harris then drove the victim and her son to the residence on Polk Street where he continued to sexually assault the victim. The victim’s son was able to call 911, which led to the arrest of Harris.
