Boa snake found behind Matthews restaurant

- A red-tailed boa constrictor was taken in by the Carolina Waterfowl Rescue after two men stumbled upon it behind a Red Lobster in Matthews.

The boa is not native to the United States - its more so found in South America.

The Waterfowl believes this to be someone's pet and it was either abandoned in the wild or escaped.

At this time, no one has claimed the snake.

Red-tailed boas are not venomous, but the Waterfowl said they are very strong constrictors.
