Teens charged with armed robbery at Hickory convenience store

- Two teens have been arrested for their involvement in an armed robbery Thursday in Hickory.

On Friday Tristan McClain,16, and Ahmad Smith, 17, were arrested by Hickory police and charged with the armed robbery that happened at a Walgreens on Center Street in Hickory at 3:45 a.m. according to Hickory Police.

The two teens were charged with one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and each received a $50,000 secured bond.

McClain was also served with an outstanding arrest warrant for robbery with a dangerous weapon from the Granite Fall Police dept. for the armed robbery at the Murphy Express convenience store on Hickory Blvd. that happened around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday. McClain also received a $50,000 secured bond in this case, according to police.

Investigators with the Hickory Police Department and the Granite Falls Police Department are still actively investigating both cases.
