Police investigating armed robbery at Statesville home

- Statesville Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place during a Statesville home invasion over the weekend.

Officers responded to a home in the 400 block if 1st Ave. in regards to a shooting on Sunday.

When they arrived they found a victim that had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and another victim that had been "pistol whipped."

The victims told the officers that two men armed with handguns entered the home, demanding money. The suspects were wearing hoodies and face makes.

Police say the suspects hit a victim with a handgun and shot the other victim in the leg.

The suspects left the scene after ransacking the house, taking money, jewelry, a cell phone and clothing, according to police.

The shooting victim was taken to a medical facility and treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The first suspect is described as 5'10," thin build, face mask and hoodie. The second suspect is described as wearing all black and long sleeve shirt.
