Arrest made in shooting of Mount Holly teen

- Mount Holly police have arrested and charged a suspect with attempted first-degree murder after shooting a 16-year-old in the buttocks.

On Thursday around 8:47 p.m. police received several calls to gunshots in the area of 200 E. Glendale Avenue.

Officers found 16-year-old Christopher Lee Randolph shot once in his backside.

Randolph was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, and then transported to CMC Main. He is reportedly in stable condition.

The shooting does not appear to be a random act, according to witnesses.

Witnesses told police that people in a white, 2010 Kia Optima had been trying to find Randolph for several hours.

During the encounter the driver pulled a handgun and began firing at the victim.

After investigating officers identified the suspect as Adrian Xavier Skinner. He was subsequently arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder.
