Salisbury police looking for suspect accused of murder, home invasion

- UPDATE (8:47 a.m. 6/22/2016): Salisbury Police are asking for the public's help in finding Sindy Lina Abbitt, 33, who has outstanding warrants for first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Salisbury Police were called out to the 300 block of Crown Point Dr. in reference to a home invasion where someone was shot. 

Officers found 38-year-old Lacynda Diane Feimster who was found dead inside her home. Lacynda's mother was hit in the face with a weapon and taken to Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released.

Salisbury police are investigating a home invasion which left a woman dead in Salisbury Tuesday night, May 24.

Officers were called to Crown Point Dr. in Salisbury just after 11 p.m. for a home invasion and robbery with someone possibly shot.

When officers arrived they found Lacynda Diane Feimster, 38, deceased inside her home.

Lacynda's mother was also home at the time and she was hit in the face with a gun. She was taken by EMS to Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center and treated for minor injuries, according to police.

Police say someone knocked on the door, broke into the home and demanded money.

Salisbury Police Investigators are actively working the scene at this time. No arrests have been made at this time.

Lacynda had three girls and one son. She worked at O'Charley's and was preparing to put a down payment on a home, according to her family.
