Man shot outside South End club

- A man was seriously injured in a shooting in a parking lot of a South End club early Thursday morning.

Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call, where they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Medic took the man to CMC with life-threatening injuries where he is currently in surgery.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say it happened around 2:30 A.M. in the 200 block of E. Bland Street, in South End.
Initial information gathered on scene indicates that there was an altercation between several people in the Oak Room that continued into the parking lot of Gin Mill and Tavern on the Tracks.

Detectives are searching for witnesses and told Fox 46 Charlotte that no one is in custody at this time.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
