CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after a man and woman were shot Wednesday afternoon in east Charlotte.
Officers said at 4:26 p.m. Wednesday, June 8 they were called to the 2100 block of Camp Greene Street.
Upon arrival, police located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. A female victim was also located on Columbus Circle a short time later, also suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Officers said the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.
Police on scene determined the shootings are related. They said it appears that the woman was driving a vehicle when the people inside that vehicle shot a man on Camp Greene.
A person returned fire. Officers said they're not sure if it was the male victim or another person. The bullet hit the woman inside the vehicle. She the drove to Columbus Circle where Medic was called.
During the shooting a vehicle and a home were also damaged.
The investigation is still active and ongoing.
