DOT secretary: Bill to cancel I-77 contract could cost millions

The Interstate-77 controversy grows after the state's Department of Transportation sent a letter to lawmakers detailing how much it would cost to cancel the I-77 Toll Lane Project.

NCDOT Secretary Nick Tennyson penned the letter, writing the state could lose as much as $800 million should the project be canceled.

Tennyson also called for the House Bill 954 to have more of a clear script about what the state is actually doing with the toll road.
