IRECELL CO., NC (WJZY) - A Salisbury man is facing multiple charges after deputies said he sexually assaulted a young girl multiple times.
According to the Iredell County Sheriff's Office, a report was filed on April 15, 2016 regarding a victim who stated she had been sexually assaulted numerous times between 2005-2007 by a family member.
She identified the man as 40-year-old Joseph Nicholas Shaver.
Deputies said at the time the sexual abuse occurred the victim was between the ages of 10-12 years old. Shaver was living in central Iredell County at the time the offenses occurred.
As a result of the investigation, Shaver was arrested and charged with five counts of First Degree Sexual Offense with a Child and 52 counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child.
Shaver is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $500,000 secure bond.
Shaver is also being investigated in Mecklenburg County for similar allegations that occurred there involving another female family member.
