Harding HS employee involved in brawl fired by CMS

- A Harding High School administrator who was caught on camera involved in a brutal fight with students was notified on Thursday she was fired.

Annette Albright was caught in the middle of a fight with multiple students in May. Now, weeks later she was notified by CMS she has been fired.

"I was just shocked. I could not believe it. I was just shocked. I was at a loss for words," she said.

Albright said she was fired because she violated the Code of Conduct as tha she was unbecoming of a professional.

"I was dedicated to my students. I was dedicated to my co-workers. I know that I'm a good employee," Albirght explained.

Albright said the video clip doesn't tell the full story, that she was doing her job, but had to defend herself from "students gone wild".

Her biggest concern right now is not hitting the unemployment line, it's that CMS is setting a bad precedent.

"I think that students are now going to be more empowered to disrespect staff," she said.

Four students were charged with assault in the fight at Harding High School. Albright was not.

FOX 46 Charlotte reached out to CMS for comment and did not hear back.
