It's all for his work helping Jeremiah, an autistic teen who wandered off from school last month.

After finding him, Officer Purdy talked with the teen who was thought to be suicidal. Since building a friendship with his family, Officer Purdy was key in helping Jeremiah's family get a new car to help get him to his doctor's appointments.

Purdy will be honored during National Police Week at a special ceremony that will take place in Washington, D.C. in May 2017.
