17-year-old charged with making threat against Hickory Ridge High School

- Cabarrus County deputies have arrested a Hickory Ridge High School student accused of making a bomb threat against her school.

Jordan Levinson, 17, is being held in the Cabarrus County Detention Center on a $25,000 secured bond. She's charged with making a false bomb threat.

Officials say the teen admitted to writing a note, stating that there was a bomb in the school and calling for another Parkland High School like incident. Students found the note in a school bathroom.

Parents tell FOX 46 that they were kept in the dark for hours about the threat and that they first learned about the threat not from the school, but from their own children.

"I was very angry when I got the call because I got the call at almost 11 a.m.," said Renee Williams, whose son attends Hickory Ridge High. "I had heard from my son at 7:45 a.m."

Officials with the Cabarrus County School District told FOX 46 that the policy is to notify parents after the threat, once everything is back to normal.
