CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - A 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital Wednesday following a shooting in southeast Charlotte earlier this week, police said.
The suspect in the case, Steven Black, is facing a murder charge. Detectives say the warrant will be served at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, where he remains in custody.
Dionte’ Hunter was shot in the head while in the drivers' side inside a vehicle around 11:15 p.m. Monday, July 24 on McMullen Way at Monroe Road.
The initial investigation revealed Hunter, who was riding with a female passenger in the car, was meeting with someone in the 500 block of McMullen Way when their vehicle was shot into and he was struck by at least one bullet.
The suspect was then seen by a witness running from the scene.
