Two adults and two children were transported to the hospital Wednesday morning following a serious two-vehicle crash in Lenior.
The accident happened at 9:39 a.m. Wednesday, July 6 on Ellerwood Road.
The Lenior Police Department said a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by Emily Davis, was traveling north on Ellerwood Road. A 2008 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Frederick Motley, was traveling south on the same road.
Findings suggest the silver Impala crossed the centerline of the roadway, colliding with the truck, resulting in a head-on collision.
After about an hour and a half, both drivers were freed from the vehicles and transported to awaiting helicopters.
Both drivers were transported to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte for further evaluation and treatment.
The status of these two people are unknown at this time. Additionally, two children, a 1-year-old and 7-year-old, in the truck were transported to Caldwell UNC Health Care by ground ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
Anyone with information in regards to the crash are asked to contact The Lenoir Police Department at 828-757-2100.
