Pokémon Go chauffeur services offered on Craigslist

Players continue to download Pokemon GO, the latest craze to hit the app store, but they're not the only ones getting in on the action.

An ad posted on the jobs site Craigslist is soliciting services for a Pokémon GO chauffeur.

The chauffeur identifies themselves as an Uber/Lyft driver in the Charlotte area and offers to drive up to four players around Lake Norman's Poke-Stops & Gyms.

Other benefits include driving “around at egg incubation speed” so that players still receive credit towards hatching their eggs…whatever that means.

Services are advertised for $20 per hour per person with on-board Wifi for an additional $5 per hour per person.

The new smartphone game, based on Nintendo characters like Squirtle and Pickachu, has already taken over the digital world. Released about a week ago, it has become the top grossing app in the iPhone app store.

It’s not all fun and games though. Players have reported wiping out in a variety of ways as they wander—eyes glued to their smartphone screens—in search of digital monsters. There have also been reports of people playing the game while driving.

The app even led a teenager in Wyoming to a dead body.

Panic arose when it was believed that app Niantic, the apps developer, was accessing information for any player who signed in using their Google account. The developer has since released a statement saying that the company is aware of the problem and is working to correct it. They said no user information was accessed.

One thing is certain, those who are trying to catch ‘em all should do so cautiously.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
