RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Authorities say a flight headed to New York from North Carolina was diverted to Richmond, Virginia, after the pilot reported an engine problem.
The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that GoJet Airlines Flight 6185 departed Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Friday morning for LaGuardia Airport and landed safely at Richmond International Airport.
The FAA says the pilot reported a problem with the right engine.
In a statement, GoJet says the plane landed safely and taxied to the gate without incident. The airline says the Bombardier CRJ700 has been removed from service and maintenance is inspecting it.
The airline says 60 passengers and four crew members were on board and passengers will be accommodated on a flight scheduled to depart Friday afternoon.
The FAA says it will investigate.
