CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - FOX 46 Charlotte is working to learn if the Highland Creek shooting is connected to a series of shootings involving pellet guns in the Concord Mills Mall area.
FOX 46 Charlotte spoke exclusively to a man who was shot in the parking lot of Concord Mills Mall Tuesday night.
"It was horrifying, it was like your worst nightmare, like a professional hit, like they been practicing this," said the man who wanted to remain anonymous.
The man said he has marks from pellets that struck his arms and stomach. He said he is too afraid to show his face.
"I was unaware of any of this happening it just came out of nowhere," he explained.
An electrician, he was working at Concord Mills Tuesday night when all of a sudden he said a vehicle pulled up to him in the parking lot and started shooting.
"A vehicle pulled up directly in front of me and just opened fire on me," he said.
He was hit with a pellet gun.
"It felt I was being hit by these bullets and pellets and I was directly in the middle of someone aiming directly at me," he said.
Police said the suspects didn't stop there. They shot two people with a BB gun at the Walmart across the street from Concord Mills, and another person was hit by pellets at the Harris Teeter on Poplar Tent Road.
All of the victims said the suspects were driving in a SUV described as a gold Toyota four runner with a South Carolina license plate LGT-968 and blacked out wheels.
The violence has shoppers on edge.
"You think that you're safe but then sometimes you hear this stuff and you think what is the world coming to," Victoria Carpenter, said.
The victim said he will continue to go to work, but he won't rest easy until the suspects are caught.
Investigators said they need the public to take action and call them if you can help find the suspects.
