CHARLOTTE, NC - Police say a man was kidnapped and shot before his attackers made off with his car early Sunday morning in Charlotte's Steele Creek neighborhood.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police received a call just before 2 a.m. from the 4800 block of Brookshire Boulevard in regards to an assault that happened on Montcrest Drive.
Officers say they located the victim at the Seven-Eleven on Brookshire Boulevard and found that he had been shot.
The man was taken to Carolina’s Medical Center- Main for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The victim told police that he was on Montcrest Drive when he was approached by two black men that he did not know. According to police, the suspects forced the victim into his own car and drove him to the Brookshire Drive area, shot him inside the car and then dropped him off near Seven-Eleven. The suspects then fled the scene, keeping the victim’s car.
Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to collect physical evidence.
The vehicle that was stolen was a silver 2008 Hyundai Elantra displaying a North Carolina Registration Plate of PCC-1318. If anyone observes this vehicle they are asked to call 911.
