CMPD investigating homicide in NW Charlotte

CMPD is investigating a homicide in North West Charlotte.

The shooting happened on Oregon Street off Brookshire Freeway near interstate 85. Police were called out to an assault with a deadly weapon around 3:45 p.m.

When police arrived they found 43-yea-old Anthony Tyrone Barbour suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medic pronounced him dead on scene.

Police say evidence shows an argument between the victim and suspect led to the shooting. This marks the 6th shooting since this past weekend. Police say so far nothing in the investigation links this incident to the events this past weekend.

The family of Barbour says his daughter was in the house at the time of the shooting but she is unharmed.
