CMPD investigating several overnight crimes in southwest Charlotte

- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating several overnight shootings believed to be related.

The first shooting happened around 12:28 a.m. when someone shot into an empty car in the 500 block of Arrowhawk Drive.

Then two minutes later in the 7600 block of Silver Arrow Drive at least four people broke into a home armed with guns.

No one was home at the time but the group did shoot the dog at the home. Then set the house on fire.

The fire was quickly put out and minor damage to the home. The dog will survive.

Monday morning at 6 a.m. the same home was shot into, but no one was injured.

Police believe all of this is related. Their investigation has shown at least some of the suspects are known to each other.
