5 people arrested on various charges, including trafficking meth

- The Iredell County Sheriff's Office arrested a group of five people on various charges after seeking out a wanted person in the area. 

Deputies said on 1:05 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, members of the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (A.C.E) Team went to the Brookwood Inn on E Broad St after learning the wanted person was staying in a room.

Upon arrival, deputies could smell an overwhelming smell of burnt methamphetamine and a smoke cloud was coming from the room. They found eight people hiding inside. 

Deputies searched the room and located several grams of methamphetamine, over 250 grams of a cutting agent to prepare methamphetamine for sales, several plastic bags, digital scales, and several other items of drug paraphernalia.

As a result deputies cited Tony Lee and Michael Walkup with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and they were released.

Kaw Yang was arrested due to have outstanding warrants for Domestic Violence Protection Order violation and two Simple Assault Charges. He is being held without bond. 

Rhiannon Forrest, Spring Fassett, and Ai Chai Lee were arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

All three people received a $20,000 secured bond. Deputies said all three people charged have a lengthy criminal/drug history.

Rhiannon Forrest is currently out on a $250,000 secured bond for two counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
