IREDELL COUNTY, NC - More than $200,000 worth of drugs is off the streets after two people were arrested Friday, according to authorities in Iredell County.
In May, investigators with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said they learned about large amounts of methamphetamine being trafficked in from neighboring Mecklenburg County.
On Friday August 12, Jouse Abraham Robles-Barbosa and Ray Santaigo Luna both of Charlotte, were taken into custody at a gas station located at Exit 31 off I-77 South, according to authorities.
A search of the vehicle located a sawed off shotgun, two semi-automatic pistols, 21.2 Grams of Cocaine $5250, 116 grams of hydroponic marijuana worth $2300 and 317 grams of methamphetamine worth $126,000. Investigators also found a police scanner, two ski masks and $9,000 in cash.
In all, investigators said 600 grams of methamphetamine worth $240,000 were seized.
Luna is a wanted person out of New York State for Narcotics Trafficking.
Both suspects were taken to the Iredell County Detention Center and were charged with drug trafficking, possession with intent to sell among other charges.
Robles-Barbosa was placed under a $1,500,000 secured bond.
Luna was placed under $750,000 secured bond.
