CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a double shooting where two women were found shot in a car on Pineville-Matthews Rd. early Monday morning.
Officers responded to a fatality wreck call for service near the intersection of Pineville-Matthews Rd. and Baybrook Lane off Hwy 51 around 2:55 a.m.
When officers arrived they found two women in the car suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The driver of the car was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic.
Police have identified the woman as Mary Elaine Tarr, 20. Her family has been notified of her death.
The second woman was transported by Medic to CMC with serious injuries.
CMPD said information gathered during the course of the investigation led them to identifying Jalen Marquise Anderson, 23 and Jerron Rashad Anderson as the suspects in this case.
Jalen was taken into custody without incident on Monday and Jerron voluntarily turned himself in on Wednesday.Jalen has been charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, and Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury and Jerron has been charged with Murder and Attempted Murder.
Police said Jalen was in a personal relationship with both of the women.
Pineville-Matthes Road was shut down in both directions between Carmel Road and Baybrook Lane. The portion of the road has since been reopened.
