MOORESVILLE, NC (WJZY) - The Mooresville Police Department arrested a local man after they said he shot his neighbor in the hand during an argument.
The incident happened just after 7 p.m. Sunday, August 21 at 374-3 Water Street.
Upon arrival, officers were told a woman who lived at the address had arrived at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the hand.
The investigation revealed an argument between neighbors had escalated and shots were fired. The victim, Lisa Rene Moore, 32, of Mooresville, suffered a gunshot wound to the hand during the argument.
As shots were being fired, a stray bullet entered another home, but no injuries were reported.
Officers said the suspect, Tyrell Kenyon Mayhew, 27, of Mooresville, was found at his address on 1 Water Street. He was taken into custody without incident.
Mayhew was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault on a female by a male, and discharging a weapon into an occupied property.
Officers said Mayhew is currently being held at the Iredell County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
