Man accused of peeping at Lincolnton tanning salon turns himself in

- A man is accused of secretly taking pictures of a woman while she was tanning at a local salon in Lincolnton.

David Anthony Painter, 43 of Lincolnton, turned himself in to Lincolnton Police Thursday on an outstanding felony warrant.

Investigators said Painter used his cell phone to take pictures of a woman while she was tanning. According to an incident report filed by the victim, she was getting out of the tanning bed when she noticed Painter looking over the petition at her and using a cell phone to capture images.

Painter is charged with secret peeping. He was given a $7,500 secured bond and appeared in court on Friday, August 26.

If convicted, Painter faces four to six months in the North Carolina Department of Corrections and could be required to register as a sex offender.
