CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) - Two people were shot, one seriously injured, while leaving a party over the weekend in south Charlotte, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Sunday, June 24 in the 7700 block of England Street.
A party was reportedly being held at a business warehouse on Saturday and as people were leaving several shots were fired, striking two people.
A man was transported to CMC with life-threatening injuries.
At about the same time, a trooper with NC Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-77 near Clanton Road. Inside the vehicle was a woman who had been shot at the party, as well.
Her friends were on their way to CMC with her when the trooper stopped them. She is being treated for minor injuries.
This remains an open and ongoing investigation.
