Union Co. manhunt ends, both suspects arrested

- The search has ended for two men who broke into a home on Billy Howey Road in Union County that prompted the homeowner to barricade herself and forced an elementary school to lockdown Friday, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies located and arrested 28-year-old Anthony Lavell Fisher and 20-year-old Quadarius Collin Mickerson. Both have been charged with felony breaking and entering, conspiracy and larceny of breaking and entering.

The manhunt ended when deputies caught and apprehended Mickerson in Waxhaw late Saturday night.

The break-in happened around 12:50 p.m. at the home of the Chief Deputy of the Union County Sheriff's Office.

Union County sheriff's deputies said the Chief Deputy's wife was inside when two men busted in. They said she barricaded herself and called 911. The men ran away when they realized someone was home, according to deputies.

After fleeing from a deputy and wrecking their vehicle, both men fled the scene into the woods off Billy Howey

New Town Elementary School was placed on lockdown Friday due to the heavy police presence. The lock-down was lifted before 6 p.m. School officials also confirmed that the power was out at the school.
