CHARLOTTE, NC (WJZY) - UPDATE: 9/12/16 (2:45 p.m.): Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have charged Henry Lee Miller for his involvement with the robberies of two Wells Fargo Banks and a SunTrust Bank.
Miller had outstanding warrants related to two previous bank robberies on August 26 and September 26. Miller was found and arrested this afternoon without incident.
Miller has been charged with three counts of common law robbery and transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who they believe robbed two local banks.
Officers said at 9:12 a.m. Friday, August 26, a man entered the Wells Fargo Bank located at 4111 N. Tryon Street. He reportedly approached a bank employee and handed the teller a note demanding money.
Upon receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the scene.
Days later, at 9:11 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, police said the same man entered the SunTrust Bank located at 207 S. Sharon Amity Road.
The man reportedly demanded money from a bank employee and plied that he had a gun. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money he fled the scene.
A K9 and the Aviation Unit responded to the scene to search for the suspect.
Cotswold Elementary School was placed under lockdown but it has since been lifted.
The suspect is described as a white male with a thin build.
