2 children allegedly abducted in Greensboro found

- Two children who were reported missing in Greensboro were found with their mother and are safe, according to police.

Davion McCollum, 6, and 2-year-old Neveah McCollum were found Sunday morning, according to Greensboro police. The children were reported missing on Sep. 6, according to WGHP.

An Amber Alert had been issued for both children, but has since been cancelled.

“The MCCOLLUM children were located in Greensboro this morning,” Greensboro police said on Facebook. “They were with their mother. They are being well cared for.”

Allegedly there is one abductor, Michael Mayo, according to authorities.

David is 6-years-old, he has black hair and brown eyes. He is 3 feet tall and 50 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jean shorts.

Neveah is 2-years-old, she has black hair and brown eyes. She is 2 feet tall and 30 pounds. The child was last seen wearing yellow hair bows in a ponytail, a white shirt and blue jean shorts.

Mayo is 27-years-old, he has black hair, is 5 feet 8 inches tall and 155 pounds. The suspect was last seen wearing a white tank top and grey gym shorts.

They were last seen in Greensboro on Tuesday, September 6. WGHP reports that Greensboro Police said on Wednesday Mayo was at the home where the children were last seen on Durham Street. But there was no sign of the children.

Greensboro police said Mayo, who has been "very cooperative," is not being ruled out as a suspect at this time.

Detectives in a news release said they now believe the children are in the local area with their mother, Cierra Ralphette McCollum, 27, who lives at the home on Durham Street.

Police said one of the children has a medical condition, which is why they need to locate the children as soon as possible. Greensboro police and officials from the Department of Social Services continue to investigate
