ROCK HILL, SC (WJZY) - A Rock Hill man is facing charges after authorities say he had sex with a 16-year-old girl.
Otis Smith, 57 of Rock Hill, is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and criminal sexual conduct.
According to Rock Hill Police, Smith had interactions with a 16-year-old minor at his residence. The victim became friends with Smith after she met him while she was being treated at Piedmont Medical Center for psychiatric issues, police said. Smith at the time was a security officer at PMC.
The victim had ran away from home and was picked up two houses down by Smith and driven to his home in Rock Hill, according to the police report.
Smith allegedly gave the victim some type of medication to “calm her down” and that the two later had consensual sex, the police report stated.
Upon learning the police were involved looking for the victim, Smith them dropped the victim off at an outlet mall in Charlotte, NC and gave her $40 and a pack of cigarettes, according to the police report.
Smith’s bond is set at $60,000.
