Two people arrested after home invasion in Union County

- Two people have been taken into custody after authorities say they broke into a woman’s home one of the suspects assaulted her.

Tyler James Greco, 22 of Indian Trail, is charged with a series of crimes related to a home invasion that occurred last Thursday afternoon at a residence in the Villages of Wesley Chapel neighborhood, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 1:40 pm last Thursday, deputies responded to a call from a woman who reported that she was asleep in her bedroom and was awakened by a man wearing a mask.  The male suspect allegedly assaulted her and removed items from her home, including firearms, deputies said.

According to the victim, a woman was with the man and the pair fled the residence in her vehicle.  Deputies located the victim’s vehicle abandoned a short distance away. 

Greco is in the Union County Jail on the following charges: second degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault, breaking and entering, larceny and theft.

On Tuesday, September 15, Union County Sheriffs' Deputies arrested Katrina Ann Taylor at a home in Waxhaw in connection with the home invasion robbery.

Also charged was Cathy Michelle Blankenship, 44 of Waxhaw, for harboring Taylor.
