SHELBY, NC (WJZY) - Thousands came together Thursday night at the Bethel Baptist Church in Shelby to remember fallen Officer Tim Brackeen.
Brackeen died after being shot while trying to serve a warrant. The 38-year-old officer is survived by his wife of 18 years and his daughter. He was a K-9 officer for the Shelby Police Department and worked there for more than 12 years.
Many in the community are still dealing with what happened.
Officer Brackeen's funeral will be held on Friday, September 16. His service will be at the Ketter Stadium and will begin at 3 p.m.
