Greg Hardy arrested for possession of cocaine in Texas

Former NFL star and Carolina Panther Greg Hardy was reportedly arrested for possession of cocaine late Sunday night in Texas.

According to TMZ, Hardy bonded out of a Texas Jail and was arrested for possession of cocaine.

A Richardson (Texas) Police Department spokesperson told NFL.com that Hardy, 28, was taken into custody after officers found he was in possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop.

According to the police report, Hardy gave police permission to search the car.

Police said they found a Louis Vuitton wallet with cocaine in it. According to the report, Hardy told police that someone must have put it in there when he passed his wallet around at a party the night before.

Hardy was taken to the Richardson City Jail and later released after posting $5,000 bail.

Hardy played for the Dallas Cowboys last season after returning from a four-game suspension following his 2014 arrest on domestic violence charges.

Before that, Hardy played four seasons with the Carolina Panthers.
