Man gets $2.5M bond in Lenoir drug bust

- A Lenoir man gets a $2.5 million bond in drug bust.

On Wednesday, September 28, around noon officers from Lenoir PD and US Marshals found and arrested Bryan Keith Simmons.

He was wanted on a felony fugitive extradition warrant from Spartanburg, SC for teh charge of possession with intent to sell or deliver meth or cocaine.

Simmons was found in a room at the Red Carpet Inn in Lenoir.

When he was arrested the officers noticed a large number of hypodermic needles, scaled and a firearm lying inside his room.

A search warrant was applied for and obtained to search the room.

When the room was searched officers found 884.2 grams of meth which had a street value of $132,630.00. They found 5 firearms, one of which had been reported stolen from Union County, South Carolina. They also found $3,957.00 in US currency, and several items of drug paraphernalia. Simmons was arrested and served the Felony Fugitive Extradition warrant. He received a $500,000.00 secured bond and his initial court date was scheduled for Thursday, September 29. 

On Friday Lenoir PD obtained warranted for Simmons arrest. These warrants were from the search of his motel room. He was charged with 1 count of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, 1 count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell or Deliver Methamphetamine, 1 count of Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling for the Purpose of Controlled Substances, 5 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and 1 count of Possession of a Stolen Firearm.   

He received a $2,000,000 secured bond and a court date of Monday, October 3.
