LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (FOX 46) - The Lincoln County Sheriff's detectives are investigating the alleged kidnapping of an eastern Lincoln County woman for the second time in the last three months.
On Wednesday around 10:30 a.m. the Lincoln County Communications Center received a call from a resident on Cowan's Ford Road that a man broke into the residence, assaulted him and kidnapped Kaitlin Victoria Greene, 22.
Detectives said the suspects are identified as Jacob Alan Houser, 21, the ex-boyfriend of Greene, who already faces a number of charges in connection with the first alleged kidnapping and an accomplice who remained in the car, while Houser went inside the home and forced Greene out of the home and into the car.
They left in a black vehicle believed to be a Honda Civic. Houser was wearing a white shirt, khaki shorts, dark hat and black shoes. The second suspect was described as wearing an orange shirt, blue jeans, with black hair and a short black beard.
Deputies searched a number of areas in and around Old Plan Road, Stanley where Houser lives but did not find him.
Ms. Greene was found safe and officers found Houser's accomplice.
Detectives said Houser faces charges in connection with the incident from Wednesday including felony first degree kidnapping and felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
The case is still under investigation and further charges are pending.
In the first incident on July 16 deputies were called out to the Cowan's Ford Overlook after a passing motorist reported a male was assaulting female, according to detectives.
The motorist told officers he was driving past the Overlook when he spotted a female in distress. The female was screaming and waving her arms as a man was screaming at her. The man then ran to the edge of the hill at the overlook and disappeared over the edge.
Greene told officers she was at her residence on Cowan's Ford Road when she heard a knock at the door. She partially opened the door and her ex-boyfriend, Houser forced his way into the home, according to detectives.
Greene said Houser grabbed her by the throat, dragged her out of the home and into his pickup truck. He drove her to the Cowan's Ford Outlook, then pulled her out of the truck and toward the water. She began to scream and that drew attention of the passing motorist.
Houser then ran to the edge of the overlook as officers from Huntersville PD and CMPD arrived on scene. CMPD called a K-9 unit in to assist in the search for the man but they were unable to locate him. Greene was taken to CHS-Lincoln treatment.
Houser has been charged with one felony count each of second degree kidnapping, first degree burglary of an occupied dwelling and assault by strangulation inflicting physical injury.
He is also charged with one misdemeanor count each of interfering with emergency communications and driving while license are revoked. He is also wanted in Mecklenburg County for failure to appear.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Houser is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 704-732-9050 or the Lincoln County Communications Center at 704-735-8202.
