CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46) - A Charlotte elementary school music teacher has been charged after confessing to streaming child porn, police said.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police (CMPD) say they received an online tip that someone was viewing child pornography in Charlotte. Investigators found that the online account belong to a music teacher at Oakdale Elementary School, 32-year-old Benjamin McMiller.
Detectives went to McMiller's residence and seized evidence. According to authorities, McMiller confessed to streaming the videos. He was arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a child.The charges specifically relate to the viewing and possession of child porn.
McMiller is in the custody of the Mecklenburg Count Sheriff's Office.
According to CMS, McMiller has been an employee at Oakdale Elementary School since August 17, 2015. He has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
