(FOX 46) - The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and CMPD Explorers are teaming up with the community to provide a Christmas for less fortunate families in Charlotte.
The project will run from November 21 to December 22.
Donate a new, unwrapped toy or bicycle to any Charlotte area Police Station or Fire Precinct for those less fortunate in our area.

The event kicks off on Monday November 21 at the Charlotte Hornets game where FOX 46 Charlotte will collect toys on the Plaza outside the Spectrum Center.
Maybe you want to volunteer your time? The CMPD Toy Warehouse will open Monday, Nov. 21 through Dec. 22 and are always looking for Santa's helpers. Come out and help sort, wrap toys and even put together bikes just like they do at the North Pole.
Another huge need is grocery gift cards. CMPD likes to give every family a gift card so they can purchase food items they would like for their dinner.
