Authorities investigating multiple church break-ins in Lincoln Co.

- The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office are investigating a number of church break-ins that happened in the last week.

For the fourth time since Friday, December 2, detectives were called out to a church break-in in Lincoln County.

Long Shoals Wesleyan Church is the latest church that has been burglarized, according to the sheriff's office. An x-box and tv were stolen. There were no signs of forced entry, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office said on Saturday, December 3, Community Full Gospel Church was broken into. Someone arrived to clean up the church for Sunday services but found that the front area of the church had been ransacked and a number of items were stole, including tv's, an amplifier, speakers and a bass guitar. The items were valued at $1,650. The sheriff's office believe they got in through an unsecured window.

On Monday, December 5, Howard's Creek Baptist church was broken into. The sheriff's office said a member of the church found a window screen on the ground near a side window on the church. They believe the suspect got in through a side door that had been pried open. The pastor's study was ransacked and a pink bucket and a blue bucket with money for the building fund had been stolen. A cash box, money and checks were stolen as well.

On Wednesday, December 7, Trinity Second Chance Church was broken into. Church members arriving for  a bible study found the main door in front of the church had been broken and was open. A bass guitar and case were stolen, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office also believe there was a church break-in in Gaston County.

Detectives believe the break-ins are connected because all happened in the same area south of Lincolnton. 

This is an ongoing investigation.
