Police: 18-year-old shot in head over the weekend in York

- Officers with York Police were called out to a shooting over the weekend.

Officers arrived at the 200 block of Mighty Joe Trail in the Green Acres subdivision. While on the way officers were notified that one person had been shot in the head.

When officers arrived they found an 18-year-old lying partially in the road and partially in the driveway bleeding from his head, according to police.

Officers found the victim's car at the end of the street where it was resting against a telephone pole still running with a bullet hole in the windshield.

The 18-year-old was taken to PMC in Rock Hill where her was listed in good condition.

Police said numerous shell casings were found on Singletary Lane which was the way the victim was driving when he was shot. After being shot he got out of his car while still in motion and ran back towards a residence where he had been prior to the shooting and fell in the driveway, according to police.

If anyone has any information as to the identity of the shooter(s), please call Crime Stoppers of York County, you may be eligible for a reward.
