Officer injured during 'disturbance' at state prison in Lancaster County

- Emergency crews responded to a 'disturbance' call at a state prison in Lancaster County on Sunday. 

They were called to Oak Unit B Wing at Kershaw Correctional where an officer was found injured. The officer was immediately sent to outside medical care, according to South Carolina Department of Corrections. 

There was no hostage situation. 

SCDC said the prison is secure and there is no threat to public safety.
