Police release photos of Albemarle Road shooting suspect

- Police have released pictures from a traffic camera on Albemarle Road that captured the moment shots rang out in broad daylight.

CMPD says they are looking for a 20-25 year old black male who is approximately 5'10" tall who has a skinny build. He was seen driving away in an older model, 4-door gray car, pictured below.

The shooting happened just before 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Albemarle Road and Regal Oaks Drive. One man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Horrified witnesses heard the shots from a nearby gas station.

"I don't know the people, I don't know what's going on, but it was terrifying," said Ashley Daniel, who heard the shooting.

Daniel says she was pumping gas along the busy rush hour stretch of Albemarle Road when she heard 10 to 15 gunshots coming from the intersection.

"They just kept shooting until there was no more shooting," she said.  "Like you may have shot him like twice, but those bullets could have hit anybody," Daniel said.

CMPD tells FOX 46 Charlotte the shooting victim drove about a block down the road, before crashing into another vehicle outside the Meineke Car Repair center.

No one else was injured in the shooting or crash.
