Man charged in March stabbings at University City hookah lounge

- A man has been arrested in connection to the stabbing of several people at a hookah bar in the University area in March.

Aldon Lawrence faces attempted murder and other charges in the case, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

The stabbing happened at Red@28th on Pinnacle Drive on March 19. According to police, fight broke out inside the club and then spread into the parking lot. Five people were stabbed and shots were fired during the fight.

Lawrence was arrested at the airport as he was headed out of the country after police received a Crime Stoppers tip. He is charged with one count of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
