The Kannapolis Fire Truck Parade returns

- The Kannapolis Fire Department announced this week they plan to host a Fire Truck Parade as part of their annual Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, September 30.

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. Organizers said the route will be along Laureate Way and N. Research Campus Drive, between City Hall and the North Carolina Research Campus.

Indoor festivities will be in The Laureate Center at City Hall.

The free Open House will focus on the theme, “Every Second Counts.” Folks can receive information on how to make sure they have working smoke alarms, plan home evacuations, and prevent fires.

There will be emergency vehicles, music, entertainment, helicopters, inflatable games, and a Pit Road, which will consist of community partners with lots of great information, and more.

The Kannapolis Firefighters’ Assistance Foundation (KFAF) said they will have hamburgers, hotdogs, and drinks available for purchase. In addition, KFAF will host a silent auction and sell T-shirts. Profits will go to assist local firefighters in need.
