Charlotte woman caught running illegal daycare after 3-month-old dies

- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has charged a local woman for her involvement in running an illegal daycare following the untimely death of a 3-month-old baby.

On Thursday, October 20, 2016, at approximately 10:30 a.m., officers responded to Aqunietta White's residence on Green Street in reference to an unresponsive baby.

Upon arrival, a 3-month-old baby boy was located unresponsive in a crib. The infant, who has been identified as Chase London, was transported to Carolinas Medical Center University where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.

The Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the baby died as a result of suffocation and in accordance with the District Attorney, no charges were brought against anyone at that time.

After the death, the Department of Child Development and Early Education launched an investigation into the daycare, along with detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit.
