One taken to the hospital after shooting outside Midnight Diner

- One person was injured following a shooting Monday outside a popular diner near uptown Charlotte, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. 

Officers said the shooting occurred early Monday morning in the parking lot just behind Midnight Diner. 

The victim was dropped off at the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds in his back. Police said his injuries are non-life threatening. So far, no word on a suspect or motive in this shooting.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
