Police: Woman attacks brother with knife, found with meth

- Two people are facing charges after they were found with meth and cocaine in their possession while deputies were responding to reports of an attack at a home. 

On July 29 at 2:05 p.m., deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on Mason Dixon Ln. in reference to a woman with a knife and a man trying to run a person over with a vehicle. 

It was quickly determined by deputies that there was no assault involving a motor vehicle. Deputies discovered Kristy Nicole Hastings did try to attack her brother with a knife. Hastings was searched and a quantity of methamphetamine was found on her. 

During the investigation a plastic bag of powder cocaine was also located. It was determined that Eddie Ming Vang was the owner of the cocaine.

Hastings is charged with assault with a deadly weapon and possession of methamphetamine. She received a $2,500 bond and is awaiting trial. Vang is charged with possession of cocaine. He received a $1,000 bond and is awaiting trial.
